Dr. Francis Duffy ’74

Dr. Francis Duffy ’74The Alumni Citation Award recognizes contributions to society through professional, civic and philanthropic work. Dr. Francis Duffy is a Professor of Education Administration and Supervision at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. where he has worked for 18 years. He specializes in organization improvement and teaches five doctoral courses in that specialty area.

Dr. Duffy is the author of articles, book chapters, and books. His newest book, which was just released in March 2000, is titled Redesigning America’s Schools: A Systems Approach To Improvement and is published by Christopher-Gordon Publishers. The book describes how to redesign entire school systems. His next book, which is scheduled to be released in September 2000 by the same publisher is titled Designing School Systems for the 3rd Millennium: Voices from the Academy, the Field, and the Community.

Dr. Duffy has been married to the former Marcia Arnold, also a 1974 graduate of Mansfield, since 1975. They have two adult children, Lauren and Paul.
