The Alumni Citation Award, established in 1969, recognizes outstanding achievements and contributions to society through professional, civic, and philanthropic work. After earning a B.S. in psychology from Mansfield University in 1976, Paul Petcavage held various professional positions for the City of Williamsport including Rehabilitation Administrator, Planning and Housing Coordinator, and Relocation Officer. He designed and implemented new housing rehabilitation programs, and assisted displaced families and businesses in relocating during city neighborhood restoration projects.
Petcavage earned his Real Estate Broker’s License in 1977 and owned and operated his own real estate company for a number of years. In 1979 he earned a master’s degree in Public Administration from Penn State University and served as Coordinator of Grants Management at the Pennsylvania College of Technology. He worked as the Director of Development for Bishop Neumann High School from 1994 to 1996.
In 2003, Petcavage earned a Juris Doctorate in Law from Widener University, and is an attorney with Perciballi and Williams, LLC. in Williamsport. One of his most significant civic contributions has been his continuous efforts in raising public awareness and operating funds for the Lycoming County D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program, a program which discourages elementary school children from getting involved with drugs and alcohol. Petcavage has also served his community as a member of Kiwanis and as a board member of the Williamsport YMCA and the former Bethune Douglas Community Center. He also served as chair of the Local Youth Commission.
Currently residing in Danville, PA, he is the father of two daughters, Kate and Sarah. As a student and four-year starter on the Mountie basketball team, Petcavage was a member of the 1975 State Championship team.
