The Distinguished Educator Award, established in 1986, recognizes outstanding service, dedication and leadership to education. While a student at Mansfield, Fred Rosetti was the president of Phi Sigma Kappa. After graduating in 1970 with his BS in Elementary Education, he began his career in the Scranton School District, teaching at the William Prescott School #38. Rosetti earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Scranton in 1973, and went on to complete the requirements for the Elementary Principals certificate in 1974.
After receiving this certification, he became the Valley View School District Elementary School Principal, serving for 15 years. Rosetti completed the requirements for Secondary Administration and the Superintendent’s Letter of Eligibility in 1983 from Lehigh University.
In 1990, he accepted the Assistant Executive Director position for the Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit (NEIU). He completed the Doctor of Education program for Educational Leadership at Southeastern University in 1993, and was elected Executive Director of NEIU in 1998. He currently serves in this position.
Rosetti is an active member of multiple committees that include the President’s task force for the School of Education at Keystone College, a 25 year Board Member and past President of the Lackawanna County Library Board of Trustees, and serves as a Board Member for the Client Advisory Board for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He was president of the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units, as well as a previous board member for the Pennsylvania Bureau of Corrections, where he chaired the Prison Industries Committee.
Rosetti has presented at local, regional and state conferences, some of which include the International Reading Association National Convention, the Association of Educational Service Agencies National Conference, and the Keystone State Reading Association State Convention. In addition to serving in the position of Executive Director of NEIU, Rosetti is also a part-time faculty member in the Graduate School of Education at Wilkes University.
Rosetti and his wife, Kathleen reside in Archbald, PA and are the parents of two daughters, Danielle and Marni.
