The Elsie Burke Service Award recognizes outstanding service to Mansfield University. In her career, Ada Mae Saxton has been a music teacher, secretary of the board of directors of Saxton Air Systems Inc. and president and chief executive officer of Saxton Air Systems Inc. from 1982-93. She is currently active as a vocalist for the Chamber Singers of Harrisburg, a tutor for the Central PA Literacy Council and is a campaign volunteer for the Allied Arts Fund.
Mrs. Saxton has also remained active here at Mansfield University. She served on the Mansfield University Foundation Board of Directors for eight years, the presidential search committee, delivered the commencement address in 1996 and has been on the Mansfield University Council of Trustees since 1997.
Her late husband Wayne ‘52 and daughter Judith ‘85 are also graduates of Mansfield University.
