Who are the Student Alumni Ambassadors?
The Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) are a service-focused organization that is actively involved in providing a vital link between the graduates of Mansfield University, the current students, campus life and the community.
Student Alumni Ambassadors serve as goodwill ambassadors for the University and serve as hosts/hostesses at special campus events such as Homecoming, Commencement and Alumni Weekend. They are involved with programs that affect the entire University community, including faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends.
The Student Alumni Ambassador program provides selected students with opportunities to develop leadership skills and management strategies, enhance their experience in handling major responsibilities, grow interpersonal and public speaking abilities and network with accomplished MU alumni and friends.
The MU Alumni Association provides special attire for every Student Alumni Ambassador to wear to the events that they participate in. Every SAA gets to keep their attire!

I want to be an SAA!
Current MU students must be nominated for SAA, however any student may nominate him/herself. Nominations will also be accepted from members of the faculty, staff, alumni or any student at Mansfield University. Open nominations for SAA begin on the first day of the fall 2009 semester and close on Friday, October 16, 2009.
Any enrolled freshman, sophomore or junior with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.8 is eligible to be nominated. Students will be notified of their nomination and invited to an informational open house on October 21, 2009. Nominees will be asked to complete and submit an SAA application and return it to SAA Advisor Tracey Dukert by Friday, October 30, 2009. Students will be interviewed in early November by current Student Alumni Ambassadors, and final selection and notification is expected to occur early in December.
Beginning in January of 2010, new Student Alumni Ambassadors will be provided with training to prepare them for their role as representatives of Mansfield University.
