June 05, 2008 -- Casey ('07) wrote to share "I got a job [at] a little energy company. We do analysis on how to save people money on their utilities. So I get to process tons of data on a daily basis. I have developed some asp.net apps for our server that work with our database. It processes commissions, sales and renewals. I maintain the network and the database. I even do a lot of desktop stuff. I'm the IT department, with the help of my husband for the hard desktop stuff. I also help along with the business end of the company. I help with contracts and what ever needs to be done basically. It's nice because for the most part I'm my own boss."
Matthew Phillips
February 21, 2008 -- Matt ('03) wrote to share that he placed first in the Raleigh, NC criterium bike race out of 42 starters. State Farm Alumni Visit MU
October 8, 2007 -- Alumni Peter Wenzel ('01) and Christian Kaluche ('01) visited the MU CIS department as part of a State Farm Corporation recruiting trip. Pete and Christian presented information sessions to students, conducted numerous mock interviews, and held an informal coffee social. Several students later visited State Farm's headquarters in Illinois for additional interviews. Thanks to Peter and Christian for helping our students prepare for the workplace.
