Letter to Parents
Dear Parents:
On behalf of James Harrington, the Associate Vice-President for Student Affairs, I would like to welcome you to Mansfield University Greek Life. A great concern for parents when sending their child to college is how well they will transition from high school to college. Fraternities and Sororities provide students with an amazing college experience by offering hands-on leadership development, academic support, service to the community, and ever-lasting friendships.
Mansfield University is proud to host 8 social and nationally recognized Greek Letter Organizations. We are home to 4 fraternities and 4 sororities, each with their own proud history and view of the future. Our organizations pride themselves on three basic pillars: scholarship, friendship, and leadership. Statistics show that students that are members of Greek organizations do better in school, attain a higher GPA, and are more pleased with their collegiate experience.
Our Greek letter organizations also provide a social atmosphere for your son or daughter to make lifelong friendships and to meet people from different areas and different walks of life. Greek Life is more than a club; it is a way of life. The values held by our organizations are displayed in their service to the community, the friendships forged, and their growth from year to year.
Finally, Leadership is something that we at Mansfield take very seriously. It is the cornerstone of all that we do. Leadership is displayed in our Greek organizations through the ability to take on an executive board position both in an organization and on a governing council. Our Panhellenic Council and our Inter-Fraternity Council together with the Order of Omega Leadership/Honor Society makes key decisions regarding policies that affect the organizations on many different fronts. It is our sincere hope that you will encourage your son or daughter to check us out. Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask,
Sincerely,
Aaron Hackman
