Losing Points
1. Outstanding Paperwork:
- After the specified due date, one point per business day, per late report will be deducted until the outstanding paperwork is submitted, or the semester comes to a close.
2. Disciplinary Action:
- If a disciplinary allegation is filed against a chapter, (via IFC, Panhellenic Council, or the Office of Greek Affairs), the issue will be discussed at the next Order of Omega meeting. If the allegations are found to be true, the committee will assess a point penalty for the chapter based on the following process:
- Each voting Order of Omega committee member (all students) will have 5 points to use towards the final point deduction.
- The "appeal board", (the Greek advisor, 2 designated chapter advisors and the AOD Educator), does not vote.
- At the voting member’s discretion, s/he may use any amount of the 5 points (or none).
- In the ‘worst’ case scenario, all 14 voting members could contribute 5 points to the total deduction, which would be a total of -70 points.
- Voting committee members must be present at the meeting in order to exercise their right to vote (No absentee ballots!).
- The executive board of the sanctioned chapter must appear before the committee for review, in an attempt to correct the problem(s) at hand. At this time, specific goals/criteria will be set for the chapter to follow by the Order of Omega.
- Appeal Board: If the chapter wishes to appeal the committee’s decision, a written appeal must be submitted to the appeal board (the Greek Advisor, 2 designated chapter advisors and the AOD Educator), at which time they will decide on the final penalty.
- PLEASE NOTE: This process solely deals with the chapter’s Star System points. The chapter will also face disciplinary action through IFC, Panhellenic Council, the Office of Greek Affairs, or the Student Affairs Office (if necessary).
