What Can I Study?

Nursing BSN

Mansfield University’s Department of Health Sciences offers a nursing program, accredited by The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, NYC, NY 10006 (800-669-9656), which blends the resources of a public university and a regional medical center. This combination leads to a program that is both academically and clinically strong. The curriculum provides a solid background in nursing as well as the liberal arts and sciences.

Nursing MSN

Upon completion of this online nursing masters of science degree program, graduates will be able to implement curricula based on current knowledge of nursing, teaching, learning, and evaluation. As a nurse educator, you will be able to assess program outcomes, be effective members of the academic community; and develop & utilize leadership strategies that lead to the improvement of health care. Graduates will be qualified to teach in baccalaureate and associate degree nursing programs or provide staff development in health care settings.

Nursing RN to BSN

Mansfield University's RN to BSN degree completion program is designed with the hectic lives of practicing nurses in mind.  RN to BSN students have the option to take coursework online or in the classroom. All nursing courses for the RN to BSN are offered online on a three-year rotational basis. All students enrolled in the online RN to BSN degree completion program must meet all general education and program requirements: Nursing Transfer Credits (38) and Nursing Major Credits (31).

Nutrition and Dietetics

Students who wish to work in the areas of fitness and sports may select the sports nutrition concentration; while those wishing to become registered dietitians must select the dietetics concentration.  The nutrition major creates opportunities for students who wish to complete advanced degrees in the field, seek employment upon graduation, or wish to complete a liberal arts degree with the opportunity to study nutrition.

A minor in nutrition is available for those students who wish to combine nutrition with other areas of study.  The nutrition minor is especially attractive for those who are interested food and nutrition for the health of their future patients, clients and students.  Individuals who plan to be involved in wellness policies and fitness in their careers should consider the addition of this minor.

Radiologic Technology

Radiologic Technology is a full time two-year degree program offered through Mansfield University Health Sciences and Physical Activities Department and is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), 20 N. Wacker Drive, Suite 2850, Chicago, Illinois, 60606-3182.

Respiratory Therapy

This two-year program is one of the oldest respiratory therapy programs in the nation with a reputation for a strong emphasis on clinical competence. Entering students spend their first semester on the Mansfield campus taking required general education courses. The following three semesters and intervening summer session consist of course work and clinical training at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The program is fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).
