News and Notes from the Mansfield Honors Program
- NCHC Conference
- A group of three students and the Honors Director just got back from the National Collegiate Honors Council annual conference in Washington, D.C.
- Emily Cole presented her paper on Jane Austin and the Gothic Novel, and participated in a poetry Master Class.
- Lauren Emery moderated two roundtable discussions and took part in several NCHC student government meetings.
- Irene Primmer moderated two roundtable discussions as well.
- Dr. Moritz presented a lecture recital on piano music influenced by Turkish Janissary traditions, and held a master class for student pianists.
- Registration!
- Honors Students can register now. Meet with your Departmental Advisor to plan your schedule, and see your Honors Advisor if you have questions about the Honors Program.
- Remember, this semester you can do the Honors Elective Contract to receive Elective credit for a non-Honors class. Visit the Blackboard Site for more info, or download the contract and info here.
- Upcoming Application deadlines
- Applications for the PASSHE Summer Honors Program are due December 11th at 4pm. Turn forms into Martha Rajaei, Honors secretary, on the top floor of South Hall. Forms and information can be found on the Blackboard site.
- Applications for the President's Internship for next fall (2010) are due March 5th, 2010.
- MOHB Blog active!
- Visit the new MOHB Blog! The Honors Program's first-year groups, affectionately known as MOHBs, will be posting entertaining, helpful, or quirky postings for your viewing pleasure. Check back often and chip in your reactions. Put it in your bookmarks!
