North Central Pennsylvania Regional K-16 Council

K-16 CouncilThe primary goal of the K-16 Council is to address improvement of academic achievement at all levels(K-16) for successful school-to-work transition, improved rates of school-to-college transition, and an increase in the persistence rate for students in the North-Central Pennsylvania Region.

The North-Central Pennsylvania K-16 Council is a collaboration between basic and higher education, business and industry, and economic and community development organizations. It encompasses 8 counties including Bradford, Cameron, Elk, Lycoming, McKean, Potter, Sullivan, and Tioga.

This K-16 Council is an integral and integrative component of Pennsylvania's and the State System of Higher Education's overall educational systemic reform in K-12 education and in teacher preparation programs.  Pennsylvania's' K-16 Councils are funded through the Pennsylvania Academy for the Profession of Teaching and Learning through an allocation by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. The Pennsylvania Academy is under the direction of Dr. Stephen A. Pavlak and is located at the Dixon University Center, 2986 North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA.  The Academy is the location for the state K-16 Advisory Council.
