Computer Safety

Cyberspace is not necessarily a safe space, despite the perceived anonymity it offers.
Take some precautions to keep yourself safe.

Mansfield University
  • Don't give out personal information to unknown people.
  • If someone is "cyber stalking" you (i.e. sending threatening emails, making inappropriate comments, etc.), report it right away. Stalking is never a game.
  • Never share your Social Security # with people! Identity theft is quickly becoming a large concern.
  • If you choose to meet someone in person that you've been communicating with online, make sure the meeting takes place in a public area. Don't be alone with someone who's unknown!
