- AOP Programs at Mansfield University are specifically designed to assist individuals who do not qualify for regular admission to Mansfield but have the potential for success given appropriate academic intervention. These programs offer learning and special counseling services to undergraduate students whose cultural, economic and educational disadvantages impair their ability to successfully pursue higher education opportunities.
- Academic Advising offers regular meetings between the student and advisor to take specific action to improve the student’s academic progress. In addition, new students are assigned a faculty advisor from their department and will report to them regularly for course and progress advisement.
- Athletic Mentoring supports student-athlete’s development in academics, personal development, career development and community service.

The Services for Students with Disabilities Coordinator helps to ensure that necessary services are provided for students with disabilities. These services include, but are not limited to, Books on Tape, Testing Accommodations, Library Accommodations, Note Takers, Reading Assistants, Residence Hall Accommodations, Scheduling and Class Accommodations, Signer/Interpreter, Tutoring, Transportation, and various Assistive Technologies as needed.

Academic Initiatives
ACT 101
If you have faced some hardships (cultural, economic or educational) that have interfered with your ability to attain a college education, you might qualify for the Act 101 Program at Mansfield University. Our Program gives you the means to enter Mansfield University and earn a degree. We're always looking for highly motivated individuals who show the potential to succeed in college when supportive services (including counseling, tutoring and financial assistance) are provided.
TRiO
This program is designed to assist students who are first generation college students, low income, and/or physically or learning disabled with academic achievement, persistence and graduation goals. Program participants will receive special academic, financial, and personal support services to help insure that they are successful in their courses, make regular progress toward graduation, and persist in postsecondary education.

COUNSELING SERVICES
The Counseling Center provides students, faculty and staff with counseling services that are sensitive to multicultural differences; gay and lesbian affirmative; accessible; and individualized for each client's particular needs. We make available to clients career/academic assessment and counseling to facilitate their career choices; provide a professional response to clients in emotional crisis; assist in developing the emotional, physical and psychological
well-being of all clients; and advocate for student needs.

OTHER SERVICES
HEALTH & SAFETY SUPPORT
Services are offered through the Campus Police Department. These services include, but are not limited to, 24-hour Police Protection, Campus Police Safety Escort, Crisis Situation programs, Drug & Alcohol awareness, Emergency Blue Light-Phones throughout campus, Parking Accommodations, Mountie Shuttle service, and a variety of Personal Safety programs.

Childcare Center
The Sandra B. Linck childcare center is operated by Scott's Day Care Centers in a separate facility located at the corner of Holden Place and Wilson Avenue. The center accepts children of students, faculty and staff in a licensed and insured program. The center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Children between the ages of 13 months through six years can be accommodated.
