MAEOP

MAEOPThe Mansfield Association of Educational Office Professionals (MAEOP) is an organization comprising of Office Professionals working in an Educational Office in the Mansfield area.  MAEOP provides information and programming to advance the professional and personal interests of the Mansfield Area Office Professionals. MAEOP provides a network of persons for sharing ideas and ideals toward maintaining a friendly, supportive, and professional atmosphere. We cultivate a spirit of enthusiasm and goodwill among Educational Office Professionals.

Established in the Fall of 2000 as a local chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professionals (PAEOP), MAEOP strives to serve as a vital function on the university campus.  The association is governed by its Constitution & Bylaws through the guidance of its executive board.  The executive board is comprised of the president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and two members who serve as members-at-large.   A number of committees have been established to perform a variety of functions for the association.

What Does MAEOP do?

  • Conducts approximately seven business meetings annually;
  • Accomplishes annual community service projects;
  • Sponsors special programs or workshops of interest for its members and/or the Mansfield community;
  • Fund-raising campaigns annually to support association projects, programs and scholarhsips;
  • Creates a regular newsletter to provide information and helps to keep active and retired members informed regarding activities;
  • Provides an avenue of communication to the Mansfield community through representation on various committees, i.e. President's Commission on the Status of Women, PTO, Treasured Stitchery Embroiderers' Guild, Odyssey of the Mind, VFW Post 6757 Ladies Auxilary, Southern Tioga Little League Board;
  • Provides opportunities for professional growth and awareness through programs sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professions (PAEOP);
  • Supports all professional office staff by managing funds for attending off-campus, professionally-related workshops and seminars.  Contact the MAEOP President for a fund request form.

Who Can Be a Member?

All Office Professionals of Mansfield University and Mansfield Area School Districts are invited to join MAEOP.   Membership dues of $5.00 are paid each September.  Dues are waived for the first year of membership.

Annual Projects

M.A.E.O.P. Annual Scholarship

Award:

  • $300.00 – Campus Bookstore Book Award for purchase of textbooks for the academic year.
  • Renewable as long as student maintains 3.0 QPA.
  • First priority given to Tioga County, PA, resident; second priority given to PA resident
  • Scholarship Committee will make decision

Application Criteria:

  • 3.0 QPA
  • Application deadline TBA  
  • Non-traditional student – Upper-Level status
  • Do not need to be full-time student
     

MAEOP 50/50 Raffle

This annual event funds the annual scholarship award described above.

The date will be announced soon.

American Cancer Society Daffodil Days

Each March, MAEOP members coordinate the sale and distribution of daffodils to

MU faculty and staff.

Annual Ice Cream Social

Held each year in August at the start of the semester.  What a way to start the semester on a sweet note!

Annual Holiday Gift Wrap Drive

MAEOP's Annual Holiday Gift Wrip Drive takes place in November and December each year.  The Holiday Gift Wrap Drive collects gift wrap, gift tags, ribbons/bows, tissue paper, gift bags, and tape to be used for Santa's Gift Bag.
