Some examples of how members of the Mansfield University family have made thoughtful tribute gifts are as follows:
· Instead of giving holiday gifts to staff and colleagues, a Mansfield University staff member made a gift to the foundation and let each employee know that a gift had been made in their honor.
· An alumni honored another alum and friend who helped her make it through school with a gift to the foundation on the day and month of their graduation 20 years later.
· For his 50th birthday party an alum’s wife suggested that in lieu of gifts for “the guy who had everything” that party guests should make a gift to the Mansfield University Foundation in his honor. As a result, the birthday guy received acknowledgements from the foundation for those gifts for several weeks after his birthday, which made it even more special.
Tribute gifts are a wonderful way to honor someone by contributing to an organization that means a lot to them.
