To Pee or not to Pee...
that is the Question!!
The Mansfield University Departments of Theatre and Music “Off-Beat Productions” will present URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL on Saturday, October 4 and 18 at 10 p.m. and on Sunday, October 26 at 8 p.m. in Straughn Hall.
URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL is the story of a future civilization where a drought has overcome the earth and people can only use public pay-toilets. When one man decides he’s had enough, he leads a revolution to freedom.
The musical comedy, which features music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis, pokes fun at capitalism, bureaucracy and small town politics, among other things.
It also parodies successful Broadway shows such as Les Misérables, Evita, Annie, West Side Story, Fiddler on the Roof, and even satirizes itself.
URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL was first produced on Broadway in September 2001 by the Araca Group and Dodger Theatricals in association with Theatre Dreams, Inc. and Lauren Mitchell
URINETOWN, THE MUSICAL is a presentation of the MU Late Night Event-Weekend Series. The series is sponsored by the Office of Student Activities.

The directors would like to thank the numerous MU students, faculty and staff, alumni, and members of the community for helping to make our productions possible. Not only are they a collaboration between departments, but rather a partnership between Mansfield University, the Borough of Mansfield and the surrounding community.
Mansfield University is a community in the best sense of the word. We look out for each other. We push ourselves to dream big. We work hard to achieve success. We care. Mansfield welcomed its first student in 1857 – and to this day, the University continues to seek and serve students with big dreams for their futures.
